White shirts are a timeless piece made perfect for almost any outfit and in today’s blog post I’m breaking down the three types of white shirts every girl should own.

I emphasise should because in no way am I saying, go out and buy all three! It’s what suits your style and environment. In my experience however, there have been times where I’ve needed a certain material or shape to balance my outfit. You can probably guess what my favourite style is from the lookbook. Without further ado, let’s talk about these three shirt styles.

1. Structured

Think men’s style business shirt. Material is on the thicker side and generally more of a stark white. If you like a relaxed look, swipe one from your brother, husband, boyfriend… The added length of a men’s shirt means it can double as dress. Add a belt and done!

My pick: ASOS Slim Boyfriend White Shirt with Pleat Detail Back $50.00

2. Linen

My favourite style of shirt! I have a Monday to Friday office job so I do tend to dress slightly corporate. A linen shirt means I can inject casual vibes into my look bringing (here’s the word again) balance. Choosing a soft linen means more flexibility in styling – tie it up at the front, layer it over/under dresses or wear it as a beach cover up.

My pick: Target Linen Shirt $39.00

3. Silky

For a more polished look, a white shirt with a silky finish is your friend. Whether it’s pure silk, satin or blend, it’s all about the way the material sits and the finish of the fabric. I love pairing a white shirt like this with distressed denim. On the flip side, you can really glam it up for night time affairs.

My pick: UNIQLO Rayon Long Sleeve Blouse $39.90

*for the non ironing people out there like me, this shirt is wrinkle-resistant.

  • I have a linen white button up from Topshop and I wear it to death!

  • I looove your outfit – it’s so minimal and chic. I’ve been wanting an oversized(ish) business shirt for ages. White looks so classic, but I also really like the ones with the blue pin stripes.

These shirts look gorgeous. I love the look of white shirts but knowing me I’d probably spill coffee or some snack on it. I’m that much of a clutz. The outfit looks so gorgeous!
