Four Weeks Travel: Beauty Essentials To Pack

I am beyond excited to share with you that I’m off to a handful of countries in Europe for the month of September! Eeeeep!!! I feel like I’m counting down the hours already.

As Violette says, skin care is my foundation so it’s important to take your selection of products seriously. I had to sacrifice a few treasured items that weren’t travel friendly, but still needed reliable and effective products. Reduced blood flow, lack of humidity and salty food are recipes for skin disasters when flying. Not to mention your destination country will have varying climates that will also effect your skin health.

Doing this post forced me to start researching and trialling alternative products for my upcoming trip.
So here’s what made the cut…

1. Simple Cleansing Wipes
I used to be a cotton pad and makeup remover solution type of gal, but ain’t nobody got time for that. Handy, easy to use and effective makeup remover is what the Simple wipes are. 25 wipes for 30 days travel… I’ll take the risk. I doubt I will be wearing makeup everyday!

2. MECCAmorphsis Transforming Facial Cleanser
Although I mentioned I sampled before packing, this one I haven’t but am confident it can do the job. It’s a gel-to-milk cleanser that leaves your skin clean and hydrated, which is exactly what I was after. Nothing to out there or complex, just a good botanical packed cleanser.

1. Essano Rosehip Certified Organic Mist Toner
I couldn’t bring myself to pack my Ultraceuticals serum and instead opted for something multifunctional. This mist will form part of my carry on for mid flight hydration, but will also be applied post cleanse in my AM and PM skin care routine.

1. Mukti Antioxidant Facial Oil Omega 3-6-9
Constant sun exposure and varying climates will have a negative impact either instantly or in the long term. I’ve been using this oil for while and love the way it leaves my skin. Used both morning and night, this oil encourages moisture retention, regeneration and balance.

2. Alpha-H Liquid Gold
I was on and off about bringing glycolic products due to constant sun exposure, but felt safer having the option. I’ll dial back and use this every second night or before a mask. Alpha-H products have done wonders for my skin and using this particular product has helped me maintain good skin texture.

3. SK II Facial Treatment Mask
A travel friendly, moisture boosting and Pitera™ infused mask that leaves you skin incredibly soft. Need I say more?

1. Ultraceuticals Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 50+ Mattifying
This will be used religiously every morning. We all know sun protection is paramount, especially if you’re out exploring and exposed to the sun all day. This moisturiser has zero sunscreen feel to it and although mattifying (which is not something I would generally go for), it doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight. The only reason I chose mattifying was knowing I’ll break a sweat most of the day.

2. Mario Badescu Ginseng Moist Cream
Not only is this the perfect sized packaging I was looking for, the moisturiser feels beautifully nourishing on my skin. I’ll be using this at night to let the vitamin-loaded ginseng extract and moisture-replenishing beeswax penetrate into my skin. Overnight TLC!

Makeup wise, I’ll be packing my usual suspects that would normally come with me when travelling. Oh, and I’ll be drowning my face in the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray to make sure everything stays put during the hot days!

My Instagram and blogging schedule may be a little off during my travels, but I do hope you all still stay tuned! I’ll be all over Instagram stories to inject you with travel envy 😜

Anyone else got travel plans coming up? I’d love to hear your beauty picks!

I’ve done a bit of travel and have really streamlined the process. Just remember, not matter what you’ll always over pack haha

Both are so beautiful to use! I use the Liquid Gold then apply the mask so that all the moister gets into to my freshly exfoliated skin.

So many good options! You really streamlined your routine but definitely have all bases covered. Some sort of a chemical exfoliation is a must – I love liquid gold! When travelling my skin gets sooo clogged. Sheet masks are smart too because once you use them you throw them away and there’s no excess packaging!

I’m all about streamlining – I’ve had some practice in this area for packing! I feel a lot better about taking the Liquid Gold now 🙂 And yes, love how travel friendly sheet masks are!

I love Alpha H Liquid Gold!! I am going to Singapore and Malaysia next month and from last year when we went, I didn’t use most of the makeup I packed, and I purposely packed less skincare and that part at least worked well. This year I play to take soo little makeup and just wipes and a limited skincare routine, since we only take carry on luggage. More room to buy up at Singapore Sephora I say!

Accounting for shopping room in the luggage is a must! Skin care over makeup is my policy :p
Hope you have a lovely trip to Singas!

So many amazing products! I love Alpha H and Mario Badescu! I definitely need to try the rosehip mist toner x

Thanks Wendy!! The wipes were recently 40% off at a drugstore and I went a wee bit crazy and bought 6 packs haha

  9. August 25, 2017 / 12:47 pm

Yes to the Ultra SPF and Moisturiser! Its my fave! Also love the Simple Wipes and the Liquid Gold. But Liquid Gold is so hard to travel with. You should check out John Plunketts Glyco Peel for travelling.

    • August 29, 2017 / 1:07 pm

So glad you’ve recommended a Liquid Gold replacement! I’ll see how quickly I can get my hands on the John Plunketts one.

I’m I am a big fan of that Alpha-H liquid gold. I did pick up the 200 ml size on sale during christmas. Starting to get closer and closer to running out of it but gahh it’s too pricey. I wish they had it on sale again haha.
