The Summer Material I’m Clinging Onto

With just over a month left of summer, the sunny days are calling out for fresh linen.

Inspired by the weather and my love for the warmer months, this outfit is my ultimate weekend look. Fashion stores have gone wild on the linen trend and may I add, at affordable prices thanks to the likes of Glassons, Assembly Label, Uniqlo, H&M and more.

It can get quite breezy where I am so it’s nice to opt for sleeves that allow for airflow. I love the look of relaxed fit linen shirts, much like this striped one from H&M. Although a cotton shirt, it still replicates a thin linen-like material. To push this look into chic territory, I played around with the how I buttoned the shirt up, then pulled it to one side to bare a shoulder.

Effortless is not to be confused with no definition. You still need this in your outfit to create shape. For me, it was adding a pair of linen shorts that cinched the waist. The neutral colour of these Assembly Label shorts allows for more versatility in outfits. I usually find myself keeping my bottoms more neutral too. Anyone else do the same?

The finishing touches of course are accessories; dainty gold jewellery and my beloved Ray-ban’s are essentials. I’m also fond of the basket bag trend so reached for this cute Country Road clutch. Sadly no longer stocked but this Sportsgirl clutch comes pretty close!
