Because red is the new black…
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, there’s no better time to talk about how hot red is right now! Of all colours, red may seem like the most daunting colour to wear but can often be the most complimenting. Before you say red is too much for me, there are a number of ways you can add the colour into your outfits.
Red All Out
Going all out in red for me is like wearing a dress, pants, jumper, coat etc. The majority of your outfit is basically red. I feel most comfortable wearing a summery red dress. It’s fun and flirty without feeling too loud. Not to say anything else isn’t appropriate. It’s about finding your balance.
A Red Bag
Something that’s low key but can still spruce up your outfit? Bags! If you’re like me and dress more towards neutral palettes, bags are a great way to add colour. In fact, you can do this trick with any accessory. Think sunglasses, scarves or jewellery. You can also find some really good bargains on trendy looking bags from places like Zara, Topshop, Sportsgirl, Colette and so on.
Let’s not forget the most chicest of all red trends that’s none other than the red lip! Go bold or sheer, deep red or bright red. Embrace how colours make you feel and own it! I hope this post gave you some inspiration for wearing red and perhaps even Valentine’s Day outfit inspiration.
